Hosting company Rackspace suffered networking problems in its Dallas data center on Friday afternoon, causing many of the Web’s hot sites to go down as well.
The official Rackspace blog had not confirmed the outage by Friday afternoon, but several sites affected either posted blogs or tweeted about the outage. Mashable and TechCrunch were affected.
The Rackspace Cloud System Status blog confirmed the outage, however.
The outage lasted from at least 3:45 PM CST until 4:14 PM CST, according to the blog. “This is a networking issue affecting Cloud Sites in our DFW data center,” the blog stated.
The blog denied that it was a power issue, the cause of the Rackspace Dallas-Fort Worth outage in June.
